An invasive pest insect, Rhabdoscelus lineaticollis (Heller) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) is threatening to palm tree and sugarcane production in South China because it was serious pest to those plants in Singapore, Okinawa Islands in Japan and Taiwan. A brief introduction including its taxonomy position, morphological features, distribution, hosts, spread, harmfulness, biological characters and prevention suggestions was given.
