The new species Otiorhynchus pesarinii (here described from Mount Sirino Massif in Basilicata, Italy) differs from the related O. armatus Boheman, 1843 and O. corruptor (Host, 1789) through the different shape of its antennal club, its more pointed apical portion of penis and the different shape of spermatheca. A key for the determination of the Italian species of the subgenus Nehrodistus Reitter, 1912 is furthermore given.
