Hypera ononidis (Chevrolat, 1863) is reported from the montane zone in the Valais (800 m a.s.l.), and from the Entlebuch region of Lucerne (930 m a.s.l.) as well as from the altimontane zone of the Northern Alps in the Berner Oberland nearby Gstaad at 1500 m a.s.l. The finds from the altimontane zone are remarkable as the southern European-northern African species is known as a xerothermophilous species, and since present only records from thermal-privileged regions at collin zones became public.
