REMARKS: Ammocleonus rhaphilineus (Sieber, 1820), a synonym of A. hieroglyphicus, was considered a valid name in Csiki 1934, but it is a nomen nudum, present in a list but never described. Anyway, it gives a published reference to the presence of the species in Kriti.
