NOTE: [This work appeared in fascicles (livraisons), each with its own date; however, it has been impossible to ascertain exact dates for those containing the Curculionoidea, and only general dates can be given here. Volume 4 started and finished the whole work, and this accounts for the wide gap of dates given by some authors: 1854-1868. This volume was started with the first 13 fascicles (volume 1 starts with fasc. 14) and was finished with the fasc. 121-144, which appeared from 1864 on. Jacquelin du Val was the author of the first 117 fascicles until his death (5-VII-1862), his work being finished by L. Fairmaire (fasc. 118-120 of vol. 3 and 121-144 of vol. 4). Weevils(excl. Scolytidae, started in fasc. 121 (1864)) are included in pages 1-97 (text, feuilles 1-12) and the catalogue is included in unnumbered pages (feuilles 13-17), belonging to fascicles 1-12 (pages 1-96 plus plates 1-30, other than plates 16 and 17 which appeared in fasc. 13). According to Gerstaecker (Archiv f{\"u}r Naturgeschichte, 21(2): 182-183), fascicles 1-6 appeared in 1854. According to the work plan, they should contain three plates and eight text pages each, totalling 18 plates and 48 pages. The rest of the plates and pages should have appeared in 1855. This matches Gerstaecker{\textquoteright}s comments.]}, publisher = {Deyrolle fils., Paris}, organization = {Deyrolle fils., Paris}, chapter = {2 pp. (Title) + 1 p. (Note) + 1 p.
